Your dental hygienist will then clean your teeth to remove any plaque and tartar that has built up. She will also check for any recession of your gums and periodontal disease. Lastly, your dentist will come in to review your x-rays and conduct a complete head, mouth, and neck exam. He will also check for signs of tooth decay, wear and cracks in your teeth. Your dentist will also inspect your TMJ health and perform an oral cancer screening.
