Community — Morrison Dental Group, Chincoteague, Virginia, USA

Community

We have always had a strong commitment to the Greater Williamsburg community. We feel we are not a part of the community if we are not in the community. All of our Doctors live in the area and have sent or send their children to the local schools. As health professionals we have a responsibility to be leaders in our community and give back to those in need.

All our doctors are volunteers at the Old Town Dental Clinic serving the uninsured and those on Medicaid and Medicare. Drs. Morrison and Murphy have been volunteers here for 15 years. Many of our staff also give up their time every month to volunteer at the clinic. Our staff also support and volunteer at the many VDA Missions of Mercy events throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

A large percentage of our staff also participate in the annual Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) event held every February at the Old Town Dental Clinic. Organized by Dr. Morrison with the help of dozens of volunteers, close to 150 children are seen on one day!  Ask us for more details.

Additionally, many of our staff members are active in charitable organizations and events such as the YMCA, civic clubs, churches, schools, sports organizations and other worthy organizations. You just never know when you’ll run into one of our staff around town!

MDG Goes to PreSchool!

On Monday, January 28, 2013, Drs. Morrison, Patel, and Hartley visited the children at St. Stephen Preschool in Williamsburg.  The children learned about dental hygiene from Elbert the Elephant and everyone had a great time learning and having fun!  Thank you to St. Stephen Preschool for having us come visit!

El Coche de la Noche

Buenos Noches,

Race fans good news, the family truckster is progressing along nicely. The welding is nearing completion and the painting is almost finished.

While battling the chilly Virginia summer, we have pressed on to make sure our roll cage and other allegedly necessary safety features are dutifully installed. To ensure their proper rigidity we have made sure that we used enough material to hold battleships hulls together, a technique we have learned from our friend down at the shipyard. We are moderately confident that with enough paint and chewing gum (sugar free) we can hide an imperfections.

As for the paint: We have chosen a tasteful mouth motif to complement the goal of promoting good oral health to our breakaway neighbors to the west. However, due to paint limitations we chose to make the back of our car more or less reminiscent to that of a Zebra's rear. For those of you looking please pay close attention to the placement and type of teeth used for our decorations. After a short Six Month Smile regimen, our teeth are aligned and anatomically correct....Photos to follow soon.

Lets hear it for the Whole Tooth and the Spit Crew nation out there. Their support has been great and with a little luck we just might pass our tech inspection and maybe even finish.

Team The Whole Tooth!!!

Greetings fellow race fans,

I am writing to you today to inform you of the great progress that team "The Whole Tooth" has made on their stallion of the motoring world. As promised Dr. Morrison, his two sons Frank and Alex along with Dr. Murphy and friends Ronnie Whitehead and Mike Hilton will be representing the Morrison Dental Group in the upcoming Capital Offense race which is part of the 24 Hours of Lemons race series. The race is themed around cars that can cost no more than 500 dollars and have never enjoyed the luxuries acustomed to most racing thoroughbreds.

Team "The Whole Tooth" has lovingly chosen a less than desireable 1995 Mazda Protege as their charriot in the upcoming race. The death mobile, I mean race car, is currently in the outfitting stages of preparation. The seats have been stripped and a roll cage is on the way, soon enough we will be proud (sort of) to bring it out in public.

One race fan on the condition of anonymity is quoted as saying "I hope they make it out alive, I have a filling scheduled next month." People just can't control their excitment!

Check back for future updates on the progress of the restoration/destruction of the little Mazda that could.

Fans are encouraged to check out The 24 Hours of Lemons site for more information on the race as well as past spectacles of mechanized prowess.

Thanks and Happy Motoring!!!

The Whole Tooth Team Hits the Racetrack

June 2012 - Ann Arbor MI -- Today Car and Driver reported that against the advice of mental-health professionals, Dr. Stephen Murphy and Dr. Robert Morrison, along with Morrison’s two sons, Frank and Alex, will compete in the 24 Hours of LeMons -- a wheel-to-wheel car race for heaps that cost $500 or less. Morrison's team -- the unpromisingly named "The Whole Tooth!" -- hits your local track on 06/16/2012 to 06/17/2012, where therapists and junkyard operators are already standing by.

One Morrison relative, on condition of anonymity, described both the Morrison and Muphy families as "...saddened but unsurprised" by the news." Unfortunately, we've come to expect such lapses in judgment," the source told C/D.

Friends, coworkes, and relatives interested in staging an intervention and/or watching the Murphy and Morrison men do something incredibly embarrassing can find more information at Car and Driver's LeMons minisite or LeMons' race-info page.

Team Info: The Whole Tooth

Driving start to finish without Novocain, we are essentially the last legs of a fading root canal. Painful and surprisingly fun through the mouth of the finish line.  We will be extracting everything we can from our vehicle - filling the competition with awe. As we pass our competitors we aim to whiten the gap and decay the lead of the front-runners.  Two actual dentists, and 3 wanna-be’s "filling" the role of team Whole Tooth, we hope to extract victory.  Please brace yourself for an epic smile.

Please stay tuned for updates as Team Whole Tooth purchases their car, readies the beast, and competes for glory!
